I slept really well on the soft beds, and the room itself feels modern and cosy. The washroom is sleek and very clean, though I found the kettle dirty and chose not to use it. Breakfast at the TASTE was awful. There looked to be plenty of choices, but there really weren't, and the food tasted bad. When dishes ran out, the restaurant didn't refill them. A comfortable, modern hotel, but the restaurant let it down.

The breakfast was decent, with a reasonably complete selection, though there wasn't a huge range and some dishes were better than others. Plates and napkins also weren't replaced quickly enough. Service needs work in my view, since a four- or five-star hotel is judged by that as well as its facilities. The room, on the other hand, was cleaned promptly and efficiently. I hadn't stayed at the Hyundai Kailai before, and although it's a little out of the way, being near a subway station makes getting around fairly convenient. The double room was nice, with relatively new facilities for a hotel built in 2014 and all the necessary amenities. The bed was enormous, with room for two to sleep comfortably or even three; there were lots of pillows and cushions, plus extra blankets in the closet.

I stayed here while visiting my parents in Zhangjiajie. The fitness center was clean, and the place seemed well maintained and free of odors for China. Koreans in the area looking for somewhere to stay might find this a good choice.
