Changzhou Mingdu Hoki International Hotel

This was my second time staying here, and the restaurant remains a highlight. Both the breakfast buffet and the set meals on the second floor were tasty, with some upscale dishes as well. The rooms are huge, though there’s no bathtub. Athletes usually stayed in them. The beds felt firm and springy, while the pillows were too soft. Some rooms had child-friendly cartoon strips with small modifications and kids’ toothbrushes. The Lishi shower gel and shampoo had bright colors and a very strong artificial scent, so bringing your own may be best. There were a few room issues: dusting wasn’t thorough, the bath towels were a little yellow, and refrigerators were missing or not working in some rooms, with only a few functioning properly. The hotel is near Gehu Lake and is considered the home of mainland hockey. “Hauge” is described as the English translation of hockey, and “Mingdu” is speculated to refer to the Ming Dynasty capital.
