Valentina Basettoni, the manager, was professional and lovely. Everything was just right, and I'd happily recommend the place.

The newer managers and staff have brought a lot of warmth to an already lovely hotel. I’ve enjoyed coming here since 2015, and IHG has managed to build on what was already beautiful. Steven deserves credit for his hard work and thoughtful touch, and Valentina for the personal care she gives. The rates haven’t changed.

The gym could use newer equipment and more room. Some of the facilities are aging, though the hotel is kept in very good shape. The rooms are clean and roomy, and I find the whole place relaxing. Service is usually excellent.

Breakfast was the bright spot, and the staff there felt very much like Shangri-la. Dinner at the second-floor restaurant was chaotic, with many dishes unavailable. The waitress and the head waitress in the black uniform didn’t seem very polite or friendly. One of our two assigned rooms smelled bad; the replacement was better, but still had an odd smell.

I’ve stayed at some very good hotels, but this was one of the best in my life. The location was great and the customer service was top-notch. Regular bookings also got me free evening snacks. Breakfast had a wonderful menu, with lots of great vegetarian options.
