Atour S Hotel (Chengdu Taikoo Li)

The room had a really bad smell, like someone in the next room might have been smoking. We asked to switch rooms and they agreed, but after dinner we came back to the same communication problems. The customer service was very poor, and the staff didn’t seem to communicate with each other. We checked in on 18/12-18/12 and paid another 700RMB for the night of 19/12. When we returned from our trip, we couldn’t get into the room. I know it’s a Chinese thing, but no one speaks English? They also gave us a gift and told us to leave a 5-star review, 5555..

We were traveling as a family and began checking in at 4:30pm, but three of our four rooms still weren’t ready. They said the previous guests were VIPs who could check out at 6pm, and offered to release the rooms sooner if we paid extra. We’d already paid for those rooms, so being asked for more money because VIP guests had occupied them was unacceptable. I can’t recommend this hotel.

A few of us weren’t feeling well, and Chu Xian took good care of us. Jingye at the front desk also went the extra mile, checking on the pillow issue and following up. We had a very comfortable three-night stay at this nice hotel in the center of Taikoo Li ChengDu. The rooms were good, and the staff were polite and helpful. It's so nice to have you，You made us feel at home。

We stayed here five years ago and would come back next time too. The price is very fair, the room was clean, and there’s self-service laundry plus a free late-night snack. It’s right beside Taikoo Li and close to the Michelin one-star restaurants Ma Wang Zi and Mi Xun. Strongly recommended!
