I've been coming back to this hostel for years, and it hasn't changed much since ten years ago. It's still my favorite in Chengdu. The rooms are always clean, and everyone on staff is nice, with more women working here now; even the men are friendly. I think it works especially well for women traveling alone. The tea is amazing, and there are really good restaurants nearby. As a new foreigner in China, you'll find lots of things to do here. Half of the place is aired out, which makes it a good spot if you're immunocompromised. I've met a lot of great friends here and would recommend it to anyone. I really enjoyed the calligraphy class. Next time, I hope to join one of their mountain trips next year.

The free hotpot night was a fun way to meet other travelers, and the metro is close enough to walk to. My room was great, with electric blankets to keep warm. The staff were really friendly and helped arrange tours, trains, and buses.

Mix Hostel has given me some of my happiest travel memories. I loved the cozy, distinctive style and all the personal touches. Mix, the owner, is about as kind and friendly as a person can be, and the staff are wonderful too. There was always a lovely mix of guests, with plenty of chances to meet people and make friends. I can't say enough good things about the place.

We had a small family room, and it worked really well. My daughter had a great time in the dumpling class. It's just a short walk to the bus or metro, and this was one of the best hostels we stayed at in China.

For a budget traveler, this is the best place to stay in Chengdu. Being able to use the kitchen saved me money, since I didn't have to buy expensive dinners outside. There's also a nice lounge where I could sit and work.
