The worn-out towels were a real disappointment. When I asked the staff why they were bringing out such shabby towels at a four-star hotel, I couldn’t believe it. I won’t stay there again next time I’m in Chengdu. I was invited back to Chengdu on June 27, 2019, after 23 years away, to see my teachers and classmates. They had arranged for me to stay at Wenhan Hotel near our alma mater because they said it was quiet and clean. Seeing a report today about 7 Days Inn closing down reminded me of this, it’s the same sort of thing, and suicidal!
