Chengdu Xinhua Hotel

This felt more like a business hotel, with conference rooms on every hotel floor and extra buildings for functions and meetings. I was disappointed that, despite being listed as five star and showing a gym and pool in the photos, there weren't any facilities like that. There's a private gym next door that charges per use. After swimming, it's inconvenient to go out onto the street and then back to the room. Water flooded the bathroom floor after a shower in both rooms we first checked into. The front desk clerk was nice and moved us to a larger room with a better bathroom. Wi-Fi in the room was so slow I couldn't use it during our stay, though the lobby had fast Wi-Fi and plenty of seats. Breakfast was okay, but service wasn't good. Staff chatted and got food for themselves without serving customers.
