Chengdu Youdao Shanfang Homestay

We only stayed one night, and it was acceptable. The hotel Wi-Fi wouldn't work for us. When we asked at reception, they said we needed a China SIM card to use it. Strange.

Great, especially with the hot spring.

Really good service.

The next morning, we were pleasantly surprised by the delicate desserts at breakfast. There wasn't a huge selection, but those treats made a sweet start to the day. Later, a fellow traveler unexpectedly brought out two plates of fragrant crayfish, and we ate them in the room, which added a lovely moment to the trip. We'd spent the day exploring the charming old city of Guanxian, so arriving at the modern, stylish Crowne Plaza Dujiangyan felt like stepping through time. The room wasn't large, but the thoughtful touches, especially the well-placed books, suited my taste and gave it a literary feel. It was a stay full of small happy moments, mixing old and new.
