Dorsett Chengdu

I had a parcel left behind at the hotel, and Cloud Tao went out of their way to help me with it. Many thanks to them. The staff service was excellent, and the rooms were clean and spacious. It's easy to get around from here, with a metro station nearby and many attractions relatively central. I highly recommend it and would stay again if I'm in Chengdu.

The room rate was reasonable, and the lobby team and front desk were helpful, but this weeklong stay for an on-site meeting fell short, especially given the listing's claim that it was recently decorated in 2018. The decor looked dated instead of modern. Some bathroom fixtures, including the toilet, looked appealing but were awkward or didn't work well. Unsteady plugs caused hassles, and exposed cables were tangled and messy. Most hall staff were friendly and efficient, though one person was impatient and missed items I'd left outside my room. I wouldn't recommend a long stay unless price is the main concern and you adjust your expectations.

The staff were thoughtful and made us feel very welcome, and the room was clean with a really cozy bed. I worried at first that the hotel might feel too traditional or dated, but our stay was caring, comfortable, and probably the best of our two weeks in China. Their experience showed, and I'd definitely recommend staying here.

The location was a favorite, close to the student area and handy for buying food and fruit. The hotel was nice, and breakfast was included. The buffet was good, with fresh salad. Service, atmosphere, appetizers, drinks, and entrees all got top marks from me. The food tasted great and looked good, and I thought it was good value. Desserts tasted great and were presented nicely too, though I rated their value a little lower. A perfect stay for me.
