The location worked well for walking to sights like Big Panda Square, the colourful lights along the Min River, and the long night arcade street. Getting out by car can be tricky, though: the hotel has only one exit, and tour buses from two other hotels on the same side road can hold up traffic if they aren't on time. Inside, the corridors and room felt dark and dated. The bathtub was small and slippery, and the shower pressure was weak. Breakfast choices were limited, with no yogurt. The old Holiday Inn name and logo are still there, which made things confusing.

The noodle counter serves a full-size portion, and Ms Ye (Ye） made mine. Ms Li (Li) chatted with us and did her best to clear tables quickly. The reception team were also great at check-in, though I don't know their names. The hotel is an easy walk from the ancient town, morning markets, and restaurants, and it was good value. They even gave us complimentary laundry, including washing and drying. The team seemed understaffed, but staff still stopped to greet us and chat. Highly recommended.

The location is good, and the hotel looks new from outside, but our room was in terrible condition. The service was the worst part of our experience. Restaurant staff scolded customers, and the front desk hung up when we called to complain about the room. I wouldn't recommend staying here unless you're okay with being treated rudely.

The air conditioning in our room broke, and when we asked for help we were treated rudely. The front desk, room service, and restaurant staff all had a very bad attitude, making this a very bad stay. Even one star feels too generous. I strongly don't recommend this hotel. I hope Holiday Inn management takes this seriously.

Su Su and Qiu Ting gave great service, and check-in with our passports was very quick. The rooms were clean, and it's a short walk to the river and ancient city.
