It’s a good hotel, not too far from Chengdu east train station. The rooms are spacious and well furnished with the basic amenities. The staff were courteous, and special thanks to Shawn for bringing an iron and ironing board to our room. Breakfast had a good selection, and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere.

Breakfast on the 2nd floor had a big selection and was better than we expected for a Hilton Garden Inn. The 5th floor was also handy for getting to the gym and laundry. Service was good, and housekeeping kept the room in great shape. We didn’t notice much smoke smell, even though we later realized the room was on a smoking floor. We were first upgraded to the 8th floor because of Hilton Diamond status, but it was uncomfortably hot. We asked to move, and Miss Lee, the manager, kindly put us on the 5th floor, which was noticeably cooler. The main downside was the centrally controlled temperature, since adjusting it in the room didn’t really help. You can open the windows, but there are no screens, so mosquitoes or other insects could get in.
