Holiday Inn Chengdu New Hope High-tech Center

My short stay went smoothly, with no complaints. It was a real pleasure meeting such respectful, accommodating staff.

The hotel premises deserve five stars, but it’s disappointing that staff manners don’t get the same attention. I heard them refer to foreign guests among themselves as "laowai," which is a very rude word for a foreigner and isn’t acceptable in a hotel like this.

The room was great and the staff were helpful. Breakfast had a good selection, and there’s a wallmart nearby. The gym needs attention, though: its machines are old, a bit broken, and don’t work for tall people.

Holiday Inn and Crown Plaza are together here, with large rooms and good service. There are lots of restaurants within a 10-minute walk, and Walmart is 10 minutes away too.
