I wouldn't stay here again. Before booking, I asked the general manager, Michelle Zhang, whether the hotel was completely smoke free, and she said yes. But when I checked in, I was first assigned a smoking room. That was really disappointing, and it made me feel I hadn't been told the truth. The service was terrible, and Michelle Zhang seemed incompetent at her job.

The staff were friendly and looked after what we needed with a smile, which made us feel at home. The room was very spacious and had a comfortable bed, a working air conditioner, and a walk-in shower. I stayed in room 920, which looked out over a random city view. Wi-Fi was free across the property, though very slow, and the large plasma TV had sports, news, music, movies, and other channels, all in Chinese. This is a good-value transit stop, especially before an early flight. The hotel is about a 10-minute drive from the airport, not too far from the main city, and has a free airport shuttle that can save money. The free breakfast was surprisingly good for the price, with both local and Western dishes, and the in-house restaurant also served a decent spread and a mean coffee. Though it's called a Holiday Inn Express, this branch felt much more stylish, clean, and upscale than ones I've seen elsewhere, especially in the Western hemisphere. There aren't any facilities worth mentioning, but as a transit hotel it delivers what it promises.

The modern rooms were clean and nice. It worked fine for a brief stay near the airport.
