The hotel is close to the panda base, and there's a convenience store nearby. The facilities are good and the food is pretty standard. The staff don't speak English, so foreign guests should be ready to use their phones.
For a 5-star hotel, the facilities were a letdown. The bathtub wouldn't fill, and the chairs squeaked.
The room was roomy and breakfast was good. We were there for just two nights, and the staff took great care of us.
We had a reservation and hadn't cancelled it, yet the hotel gave our booked room to other guests. The replacement room couldn't sleep three people, and it didn't look like the photos. We had booked two double beds. Changing our room was bad enough, but insisting that two single beds counted as a double bed was too much. I also can't help wondering whether nationality affected how we were treated. The staff were rude and their attitude was awful. It left us with a terrible first impression of China. I strongly wouldn't recommend this hotel.
