We enjoyed breakfast in one of the balcony booths by the fish pond, where curious turtles sometimes came by. The restaurant looks stylish and the food was tasty. Our standard room was comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It’s a beautifully designed hotel beside a large park and the provincial history museum. The park itself is lovely and good for jogging.

The hotel has been renamed Chengdu Huanhua Hongtai Hotel. It’s in a lovely, quiet and comfortable setting, right beside the Sichuan Provincial Museum, Du Fu Thatched Cottage, and Huanhuaxi Park. Breakfast includes Chengdu specialties.
