Ibis Dujiangyan Hotel

The room was clean and fine if all you need is somewhere to sleep, but the amenities amounted to a toothbrush, comb, and shower cap. There’s no bathtub or bidet. I’d expected a cafe and some Western food because it’s a foreign-owned hotel, so that was disappointing. The hotel’s functionality is very low, though I didn’t have any specific complaints since I was only there to sleep. I stayed five nights starting on New Year’s Day, and the accommodation fee was about twice the usual price. It’s far from tourist attractions, so getting around is inconvenient if you can’t use a taxi. There’s a small commercial complex next door, though it was closed for the Lunar New Year. The river in front is a fireworks spot, with spectacular displays in the early morning and late at night. The front desk staff don’t speak English, or Japanese, of course. It seemed the heating had been turned off, and the lights were off from around 2 AM to 7 AM. One staff member was standing there bundled up against the cold.
