The hotel dismissed our concern as “mosquito bites,” and Trip.com told us that was the hotel's explanation. They showed no real concern for guest health or hygiene, took no responsibility, and didn't investigate. If they won't even consider bedbugs, how can anything improve? I wouldn't recommend staying here, and I'd urge future travelers to think twice. I developed lots of red, intensely itchy welts on my legs shortly after our stay in Chengdu. I live somewhere tropical, where mosquitoes are common, but I'd never had bites itch this badly for more than a week and keep getting worse. My husband was in the same room. He had no visible bites, but after we left, his skin became unusually dry and itchy. We believe these were bedbug bites, and the experience was extremely disappointing.
