The names on booking sites can be confusing. We saw Floral Hotel on Trip.com, Qintai Tibetan Culture Boutique Hotel on Booking.com, and Shintan Bliss Qintai Hotel and 34° Art on the sign above the door. Restrictions on Google Maps and other services make name changes hard. We hesitated at first, but we're glad we booked. The previous poor review seems quite old and may date from when another owner ran the hotel. It's a lovely place, with some of the cleanest rooms we've seen and really comfortable beds. Great value, too. The staff were incredibly friendly and did a lot to make our stay good: they arranged excursions, helped us find things we needed in the city, brought little treats and gifts, and even fixed a broken handbag. The hotel is an artists' place, and its quirky, old fashioned decor fits right in among the lovely traditional buildings. The location also makes it easy to explore Chengdu's parks, shopping areas and cultural sights.

The rooms are beautifully decorated, and there's a terrace overlooking a street full of interesting shops. It's a relaxed, lovely hotel, very close to a park with gorgeous lotus ponds. Highly recommended.

The cats are surprisingly affectionate, and the service is efficient and always available. The hotel has a distinctive, stylish feel that's a rare experience, and the location is very convenient.
