The photos gave me high hopes, but the hotel turned out to be very dated. My room was hot in the middle of February, around 26 degrees unless I opened the windows. As I understand it, HVAC is centralized and in winter only heat is available, and since the room faced a big street, leaving the windows open brought in a lot of noise. It's a long walk from Chengdu South because you have to go around, though the nearest subway stop is about 8 minutes away.

Service at the front office didn't impress me, perhaps because they don't speak much English. The room cleaning also fell short: my coffee mug wasn't clean for 2 days. But the Executive lounge service was impressive, especially from Liu Hongmei & Fengxiaoming. They were impeccable and went the extra mile to help clients. They'll be a great asset to the hotel.

The maintenance was hideous. Nobody helped me with my luggage, and they didn't even acknowledge my platinum elite status verbally. They never told me whether I was upgraded, and I wasn't, despite plenty of availability.

The room was genuinely top-notch, with world-class quality, and the amenities were great too. The lobby view and elevator could still use some improvement.

The front desk staff were polite, kind, and ready to help. The hotel itself feels worn, though: some room light switches didn’t work properly, and a few pieces of furniture need repairs. Breakfast was decent in both selection and quality, but nothing special compared with other Renaissance locations. It didn’t feel like a Renaissance-level breakfast.
