I’m a Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite, and this property falls so far short of Marriott standards that I’ve cancelled all my bookings here. The elite benefits have little meaning here. They say upgrades are decided on check-in day, which conveniently lets them avoid honoring Platinum benefits. You apparently won’t get an upgrade unless you’ve already paid a suite rate, even though room rates have since dropped and my earlier standard-room booking cost the same as a suite now. They upgraded my earlier, more expensive booking but refused to do so for my more recent dates, even after I applied Suite Night Awards. Despite booking months in advance, I got endless excuses. They also used minor changes to my reservation as a flimsy reason to deny benefits. There’s no recognition for elite status, no service, and no accountability. Bonvoy Platinum Elites shouldn’t expect benefits or service here.

My family had a lovely stay at the Sheraton Chengdu Lido Hotel, especially thanks to Melissa Yang. She looked after them in the club lounge and throughout their visit, suggested things they could do, and made them feel special. I’d highly recommend staying here.

You can walk to Wenshu Monastery, Tianfu Square, Chengdu Museum and Kuanzhai Alley from this perfectly placed hotel. The staff are friendly, helpful, and quick to make sure you’re enjoying your stay.

The breakfast has so many tasty choices, which is a good problem to have. The hotel itself is modern and spotless, with amazing views and really helpful staff. Its location is brilliant too, an easy walk to the main shopping district.

The facilities feel new, the breakfast is good, and the metro station is right next door. Most of the staff speak English very well and are all service-minded, though a few had trouble communicating in English.
