Atour Hotel (Chongqing Hongyadong Riverside)

The room was nice, the staff were kind, and the price was reasonable. It's near one of the city's best locations. I'd stay here again.

We spent three nights at this hotel on our trip to Chunking, and the location made it easy to walk to attractions and restaurants. The rooms were clean and well equipped, with four free bottles of water provided each day. Room service and the reception team were both very friendly and excellent. Breakfast was delicious, with lots of Western choices. Highly recommended.

We didn't have breakfast included where we were staying, so we went to Atour Hotel for its buffet, which cost 48 yuan. Getting there was easy from Line 1 at Xiaoshizi Exit 4B, the same exit as Chaotianmen Square, and it worked well as a stop to refuel before more sightseeing. The entrance is a narrow passage with two elevators, one on each side; we rode up to the counter on the 26th floor. There was plenty to choose from, and the food was fresh and tasty. Fruit and yogurt were in a fridge for self service. I liked the fragrant soy milk and fresh tofu pudding with assorted toppings. Noodles came in several varieties with vegetables and mushrooms, and you could add vegetables, chili paste, sauces, stir-fried chicken, or stir-fried peanuts. There were also steamed buns, dumplings, rice noodle rolls, fried dough sticks, and crispy fried shrimp that were easy to chew and swallow. Drinks included grape and orange juices, lemonade with tea flavor, passion fruit juice, and more. The hours listed were 7:00 AM - 10:30 AM, and a sign mentioned another buffet session at 9 PM.
