Chongqing Guanyinqiao 9 Street Intercity Hotel

The view was amazing, and the hotel is in a great spot next to the famous bridge. We did eventually get a room, but paid more than we would have if the hotel had found our booking. Bookong.com had confirmed our dates and reservation, but after a long train journey we arrived to find the hotel had no record of it. We understand this wasn't the hotel's fault. Still, it felt as though nothing would be done until we suggested they give us any room and let us pay there. This was our honeymoon, and it was already too late to go elsewhere. It was also difficult to navigate the service. There was a big language barrier, and no one at the hotel spoke English, so we had to call friends who spoke Mandarin to explain what had happened and help us get a room. The stay wasn't terrible, but I do feel the staff could have done more to help without us having to suggest the solution ourselves.

I slept wonderfully. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the beds were so good that I'm trying to get the mattresses and pillows delivered to my house. It's a boutique hotel, and while none of the reception staff spoke English, they were really nice. I arrived late and left early, so the only thing I saw was the fantastic airport.
