We were pleasantly surprised by the breakfast. During our three weeks of independent travel in China, it was the best we’d had so far: lots of variety, very diverse dishes, well prepared and nicely presented. A good espresso machine rounded it out. Our room on the 16th floor was spacious, very clean, and had everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable, and water and tea were always available. If you need anything else, you can ask at reception. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and even arranged theatre tickets for us. English is rare, so you really need a translator, but that wasn’t a problem for us. The location worked well for getting around: a five-minute walk to the river, another 20 minutes to the Grand Theatre, and five minutes to the nearest subway station. We really enjoyed the hotel.
