Xinhua Hotel

Service was awful apart from one woman in the cafeteria, who was especially friendly. She even ordered two extra bowls of noodles. China Airlines arranged the transit accommodation, and the hotel looked clean at first. But there were plenty of problems. The hotel said it would pay the taxi driver, then failed to sort it out, and the driver got angry with us. At the counter, the clerk brushed us off and said it wasn't her responsibility. You'd promised to help, so being asked to deal with the change in the middle of the night left us with no energy for it. Why wasn't it prepared when you agreed over the phone? A terrible experience. 👎🏻❌

I couldn't try the breakfast because the timing didn't work out. I was here as an Air China transit guest, and the hotel felt fresher, bigger, and more spacious than I'd expected for a cheap stay. The bed was wide, too. Like other hotels in China, smoking is generally allowed.

The simple decor looked elegant, and the room was quite large with fast internet. The carpet wasn't especially clean, and the TV was old, though it had some channels I don't usually get at home. The hotel is so close to the airport that taxi drivers wouldn't come. The shower was very low, too, so anyone taller than 1.75 meters would hit the ceiling.
