Mingshi Bieyuan Hotel

The rooms follow an old fashioned wooden long house design and are a little small, though they were clean. Facilities were kept in good working order, and there were adequate options for guests with disabilities. The resort is beside the lake, with the breakfast area looking out over it, making for a pleasant place to eat. It's in the Ming Minority area and close to the activities, so getting to the shows is easy. Several food outlets are also within walking distance.

The scenery was beautiful, and the sunset by the pond was spectacular. We had nice weather during our early March visit. Our hotel was close enough to walk to the pond, though I can't recall the resort's exact name. Breakfast by the pond cost a lot and was a bit disappointing.

The village style hotel has nice rooms and a pleasant design. Renting bikes to ride through the nearby villages and mountains was great. Food was a weak point, and the little village nearby only had a few very basic canteens. Staff had almost no English and treated foreigners like aliens from Mars.

The weather was really nice and the surroundings were very good, with a decent room and good food. It is quite far away, though, and mosquitoes bit me while I was sleeping. That was bad :(.
