Phoenix Hotel Chongqing

For a business trip, the hotel is fine, and the location is perfect, close to nature and downtown. Food was good in the evening, and it seems to do well with local people, with local events happening most of the time. Breakfast was good enough, but the restaurants have little Western choice, even though there’s a Western restaurant. None of them is open round the clock, and lunch can’t be ordered after 1:30 pm. The hotel also needs to improve staff language skills, since very few people speak English.

The rooms are large and clean, but they feel outdated. Avoid weekends with event promotions, when families and kids take over the place. Breakfast and dining can’t keep up, and the buffet dishes aren’t replenished quickly enough.

A good hotel for this area, with a good restaurant inside.

I liked the comfortable rooms, nice beds, and very good service, as well as the excellent facilities and equipment. The decor overall is lovely, especially the grand lobby. Buses pass by, so getting around is fairly convenient. The buffet is decent, though a little expensive, but acceptable overall.
