Wending Hotel

The room had plenty of space and a big double bed, plus both air conditioning and a heater. They also provided two free bottles of water. Nice 👌

I couldn't get the air conditioning in my room to turn on. Staff said it would only blow hot air. Someone came and switched it on once, but the system shut down again after about an hour. I went to the lobby and used Google Translate to ask for help. They sent the same staff member, who opened the window and repeated that the unit only blew hot air. Nothing came out at all, and the staff member left without helping further. The noise from outside kept me awake, even though I was worn out from the day's travel and needed sleep. I was really disappointed. During my China trip, the other hotels in the other cities had been good every day. This was the only bad stay, on the final day. I was there with a tour operator.

The electric kettle kept failing. Staff had to help with it, and later that night it stopped working again when I tried to boil drinking water. I was also charged 50 yuan for a pillowcase they said was stained and couldn't be cleaned, so they gave me a secondhand one. The faint yellow marks were from herbal pain relief oil. I washed it with ordinary detergent, without bleach, and the marks came out. The wash water was dark, so I suggest the hotel change the products it uses to clean the bedding. I’ll send pictures today.

There’s a place to get food just to the left of the hotel. My room was clean and bright enough to work in comfortably.
