I stayed in the 6-bed female dorm, and the room was nice and comfy. The hot water was a lifesaver, though the controls are quite sensitive. WiFi was fast even with LetsVPN, so it worked well for digital nomads or online meetings. The common area is a good place to relax, hang out, or get work done. There’s no water refill, but bottled water costs 1 CNY, or you can boil the tap water to make it suitable for drinking. We got great tips for places to eat and plenty of useful detail about hiking. After three days exploring Dali and nearby areas, the quiet at Lily Pad felt like a real relief from the busy city. The cats were young and funny, and I especially liked spending time with them. Guests can also join the staff for dinner, which was lovely.

Really relaxing, with hardly any noise. The owner was helpful and very nice, and we had a good time in this cozy place. It’s near the old city, with some beautiful hikes around. Worth a stay :)
