It gets packed with tourists. There are lots of hotels and places to eat, and it’s a nice place to visit, but everything is very expensive. Usually you have to buy a drink or food before they’ll let you take a photo of the view.

Our room had an incredible view and was spacious, clean, and nicely decorated. The area is busy in the daytime but gets very quiet at night. Service was quick and great, with a butler and golf carts for pickup and drop-off.

The town’s look and feel reminds me a little of Santorini. There are lots of hotels and coffee shops where you can head up to the rooftop for a lovely mountain view. Plenty of visitors come for pictures and hire photographers for their shoots.

We picked Hidden Mist Hotel among the many places to stay in this area, where they’re building a kind of Santorini in Yunnan Dali, facing beautiful Dali lake. The private jacuzzi in the room was a nice touch. It was a decent stay, with a night dessert and plenty of photo spots to choose from, plus a hotel photographer.

The views are amazing, and the hotel is lovely, though the rooms show some wear. The projector wasn’t available because it was being repaired. The crew made up for those issues with excellent service, especially Lin Yuanhu. We arrived late and there weren’t any nearby restaurants available, so he even helped us order food. He made our two-day stay really comfortable. Highly recommended!
