The guesthouse is within walking distance of Shaxi's main attractions, which made it easy to explore on foot. Inside, it has a peaceful, characterful feel, with thoughtful furniture and design details, plus soft music that made even sitting around relaxing. Our family had a lovely time and would happily return. The hosts were warm and attentive, and especially kind to the children and older members of our group. It felt welcoming and home-like throughout our stay in Shaxi Ancient Town.

We were greeted with afternoon tea, and the tea room had plenty of tea, teaware, sweets, and pastries. Breakfast was tasty, with both Chinese and Western choices. When we left, the young proprietress gave us a little gift and warmly recommended places to eat and visit. The courtyard itself is lovely and tranquil. Walking its long corridor, we saw sturdy ivy on one side and fruit-covered plum trees on the other, with lotus leaves and colorful koi in the central pond. The ancient houses and courtyards in Shaxi Ancient Town feel comfortable and naturally elegant.

A lovely place to unwind, with a calming, almost healing feel. The hotel is beautiful, clean, and has its own style. Above all, the service felt like 7-star service.
