I've officially canceled my upcoming stay. I booked with an IHG Anniversary Night, which I expected to be a premium, seamless benefit, but the staff's rigid response and poor communication ruined it. My app showed executive lounge access as included. When my family asked about the mismatch, staff argued over the fine print and asked us for screenshots instead of handling it with basic hospitality. Reaching the property was a struggle too. The front desk repeatedly didn't answer, and even IHG Customer Service had trouble getting through. It took about 20 minutes just to make contact. The female agent who eventually answered spoke perfect English, but didn't seem to understand basic customer care. Speaking fluently should mean listening and handling a disagreement professionally, but she made things difficult instead. In the US, Chick-fil-A is known for great service. There's a familiar story about employees coming out to help when a customer's car broke down in the drive-through. I'm not expecting hotel staff to fix cars, but they should take that same approach: see things from the customer's side and actually try to help. An Anniversary Night should make for a memorable stay, not phone tag and a lecture about terms and conditions. This was incredibly frustrating. I'm happy to use my reward nights somewhere that answers the phone and understands hospitality.

The room was tidy and the view was nice. I can't say the breakfast tasted all that good, though.
