We had a great stay, including New Year’s Eve, over seven days. From our room there was a lovely view of XingHai Square and the ocean. The restaurant on the 47th floor is well worth trying for its Dalian local seafood dishes. The location and service were great, and the staff were friendly.

It’s a really nice property in a great location, and the service was attentive and friendly. The room air-conditioning was the one real problem. It couldn’t cool the room properly, even though they came several times to check and said it was working fine. It stayed between 23 and 25 degrees when set to 16, which made sleeping difficult.

A great location and view went to waste. For the price and brand, having no air conditioning in the room during this season is absolutely unacceptable for a 5-star hotel. Inside, it smells muddy and stale, like a damp Canton alley. If I’d known there was no AC, I would’ve run the other way.

I stopped in Dalian by chance and loved this place. The locals were friendly, but the hotel was something extra. The food was great, and the rooms were spacious, clean, comfortable, and had a great view. The staff made me feel sincerely welcome. Even those who didn’t speak English tried their best to make sure I had everything I needed, except for two shy waiters. I’ll definitely visit again.

I only went to the Grand Hyatt Hotel for dinner. It’s beside Dalian’s most famous tourist attraction, Xinghai Square, and has a stunning view of the sea and the beautiful bridge. The food was good, though pricey. There happened to be a real fight between a member of the waiting staff and a customer. Apart from that, the service wasn’t bad. I’d recommend visiting before dusk, when the lights come on in the amusement park and along the bridge.
