I spent about two weeks here and had a really lovely stay. The room had pretty much everything you could ask for, and there are lots of places and restaurants nearby. Downtown is a bit far, but there’s plenty to enjoy here. Be sure to try the restaurant’s food. The breakfast spread is probably one of the best, with lots of choices for vegetarians too.

What stood out during my long, wonderful stay was the front end staff at Shangrila. They read what guests need and take care of things before anyone has to ask. At other hotels, staff will help when requested, but here they act in advance. That really sets them apart. The staff are very well mannered and professionally trained. I hope to experience the same hospitality on many more visits.

The place is beautifully decorated and the service is great. Hygiene is the one downside. I’ve seen people spit in the sauna multiple times. Yikes!

As a Diamond member, I really enjoyed this trip to Dalian. I wasn’t feeling well one day, and the Horizon club staff noticed and asked what was wrong. Once I explained, they quickly made hot sugar water for me and kept checking on how I was doing, even while I was resting in my room. I haven’t had this kind of hospitality at other hotels. After I checked out, Jennifer Ning still messaged to ask how I was. I really appreciate the service spirit at Shangri-la Hotel.
