The biggest letdown for me as a non-smoker was the smoking setup. Ashtrays were placed by the elevators on every floor, and people smoked there, apparently because they couldn't smoke in their rooms. My non-smoking room picked up the smoke smell on nearly every day of my stay. For a hotel presented as a five-star luxury place, that policy disappointed me, and I hope management stops allowing smoking anywhere inside. Some reception staff spoke little English, though I managed with Google Translate. The heater and AC also took a while to warm or cool the room. On the better side, my room was clean and didn't feel dated. The breakfast buffet had plenty to choose from, both Western and Chinese. A popular mall right beside the hotel had lots of restaurants, cafes, and a supermarket.

There's a beautiful lake across from the hotel, and Wanda mall is right next door, so the location is handy. It's the only international hotel in Daqing City.

We were 11 people sharing five rooms for three nights. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the hotel was clean, warm, and friendly. Wanda shopping center and food stands are close by. We also ate well at the hotel restaurants, and the pool and gym were excellent, especially the treadmills.
