Datong Xinyu Crown Hotel

My friend suggested this hotel for my four-night stay, and I'm glad they did. I arrived without knowing much about it, then kept finding nice surprises. It opened about six years ago, and many of the facilities still seemed quite new to me. The room was large and pleasant, and you can crack the window open for some fresh air. They also left six bottles of water for free, which I hadn't expected and appreciated in winter with the heating on. I included breakfast, and it turned out to be a great deal. There was lots to choose from, including continental options for Western guests and local favorites. The coffee machine near the restaurant entrance made really good espresso and Americano, close to what I get in Europe. The staff were all friendly, and the service was top notch. One day I left my workout clothes on the bathroom counter. Xie MiaoMiao, the room cleaner, washed them and hung them on the string. I really appreciated that and hope the hotel rewards her for it. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, from small places for a quick bite to more upscale spots for a proper meal. After converting the currency, none seemed expensive. I was very happy with the hotel and highly recommend it.
