Pi Pa Hotel

Employees were very kind and welcoming, and the rooms were clean with bathrooms in excellent condition. It feels more like a boutique hotel than a hostel, right in the heart of the old, renovated part of Datongnan. The area is quiet because cars aren't allowed, though a taxi can drop you less than a three minute walk away. Breakfast choices were a bit limited, especially for foreign guests.

It's tucked away a little, but this inn is a real gem. The staff are friendly and helpful, and it's convenient, with the feel and quality of a boutique hotel. Breakfast is good for its class. The area has food and souvenir shops for the evening, as well as tourist spots. There is no lift, so you'll have to carry your luggage up yourself if you're on the second or third floor. The stairs aren't hard to manage. I'd recommend staying here, it has hotel quality.

Though the rooms are small, they have everything, from bottled water and tourist books to a Japanese intelligent toilet seat and a motion activated night light. The room was warm and cozy when we stayed in early April, even though it was nearly freezing outside. Breakfast was Chinese, with Keurig coffee also provided. The staff were friendly, and we had a wonderful stay at this little gem inside the old city, near the Drum Tower.

The staff were kind, the breakfast was delicious, and the room was clean. It was a lovely place at a reasonable price. Since it's within the wall, you can take a walk at night and enjoy the view.
