Fairfield by Marriott Dongguan Changping

The breakfast buffet was fantastic, with mostly Chinese dishes that were fresh and really good. The rooms were huge and modern, though the open bathroom wasn't for me. The air conditioning struggled to cool the room below 24 degrees C, and there was a lot of noise, so it wasn't the best. Still, for the location, this is probably one of the best hotels around and very good value for money.

In April 2023, I stayed here with four friends, and the hotel turned out even better than we'd expected. Anna Chen, the manager, stood out for being efficient, pleasant, and helpful, and the rest of the staff made us feel comfortable too. The rooms were huge and immaculate, just as they looked on the hotel website. Breakfast was included, with a tasty international buffet and plenty of choices. I'd highly recommend it to anyone visiting Dongguan Changping.

The room was spacious and breakfast was solid, and the building is new, built in 2017. But sound carries straight through the wall, so we could hear every word from next door. Those guests kept knocking to tell us to be quiet even though we were only talking at indoor volume. I invited them into our room and showed them that we could hear them too. They left, and I thought that was the end of it. Then late at night, after my children were asleep, staff rang the bell and banged on our door to say there had been complaints and we should quiet down. Their actions woke the children. I told them that was unacceptable and that they should have been able to see we weren't making any noise, since we were all asleep. Check-in had also been stoic and indifferent. Horrible hotel, I don't recommend it at all.

Great staff and a very good breakfast with lots of variety. It's right in the center of town, a few blocks from a good mall.
