I've stayed at Grand View Hotel many times and enjoyed it each time. For about US$100 a night, the quality feels like at least $400 by US standards. The rooms are clean and quiet, and the hotel feels secure. The breakfast isn't one of our continental styles. It's a huge selection of good food, freshly made, with something for every taste. There are rooms for smokers too. Ask for a balcony room on the river side if you can. The sunsets are stunning. Just don't leave the balcony door open overnight. I did that once and woke up with a swollen face from mosquito bites. Internet is fast and good through the provided ethernet cable, though it's not wireless WiFi. They also have nice indoor and outdoor pools and a fully equipped gym. Next door, the massage parlour offers a quality massage for $10, covering bones and muscles. There's not much around to go out and see. You'll need a car, and either need to speak and understand Chinese or have a Chinese companion. Taxi drivers often don't speak any English, and some drive without GPS and get lost at your expense. It's a great place to stay, though.

The restaurant serves good food with live music, and there were enough staff. There aren't any large shopping malls nearby, though. The rooms are spacious and the plumbing feels fairly new. The pool is quite large, with separate deep and shallow areas that suit both adults and kids.
