The internet works "in Chinese": Google and Facebook are blocked, so you need a VPN, and the connection is slow. There's no password to use directly either; reception has to enable Wi-Fi for your device, and you have to ask them. Aside from that, this hotel is amazing for China. The rooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable, and the bathroom is large. It has a European, Viennese style as understood in China 😉😂. Breakfast is a tasty buffet with plenty of choices, and the quality is very good for a very reasonable price.

The location is handy for the Guangdong International Modern Exhibition Center, about a five-minute walk over the footbridge. Food is easy to find, with a street of restaurants and snack shops outside and several supermarkets nearby. The TV has plenty of channels, and the well-trained staff are responsive when you need something. The downsides built up over my four-night stay: breakfast was almost always the same, with no soup and uninspiring drinks. The soy milk was made from powder, and seats were in short supply. My room had no refrigerator and lots of mosquitoes. Outside, the street was dirty, often jammed with traffic, and full of horns and sirens, which made me concerned about safety. Wi-Fi reception was poor, and without a Wi-Fi cable in the room I couldn't connect my laptop.
