Crowne Plaza Foshan Nanhai By IHG

I was here for two weeks. The rooms were cleaned daily and were clean, though some were smoking rooms even though smoking is officially banned in the hotel. There’s a traditional Chinese restaurant on the second floor, and a more European-style one on the ground floor by the lobby. A very pleasant place.

I had a really good stay. The rooms were top-notch, and the staff were friendly and cooperative. I missed breakfast because of a misunderstanding, but Mr. Bruce, the F&B manager, was very accommodating. He let us order anything from the à la carte menu at no extra charge. Great service, highly recommend.

The lake next door has a lovely 3.5km jogging path, and it’s only about a 10 minute ride from GZ south high speed railway station. The rooms are clean and spacious. This is a new development, though, with few people around and no shops or restaurants nearby. The breakfast buffet has plenty of local dishes and international basics. I found the congee station interesting, but wasn’t sure about the hygiene: raw ingredients are set out for guests to pick up with spoons, then guests handle raw meat and cooked food with the same hand. My family had mild upset stomachs after breakfast. Weekend promotions also bring in families, and excited kids can make it noisy all night.

We had a clean, spacious room at this nice five star hotel during our Guangzhou trip. Breakfast was very good, with a wide range of choices, and even beat the buffet at Shangri-La Kuala lumpur.
