There are subway stations about a 500 meter walk away. If you have the time, you can also take the subway from Guangzhou south station.

I was traveling from the airport with an infant when I noticed my IHG reservation had disappeared from the app. The hotel had canceled it without telling me because its internal procedure is to cancel guests checking in after midnight. I also had to call using a local line to confirm the crib, after staff said I hadn’t requested one. I sent a screenshot as proof, especially since the app asks for the child’s age, but the staff member went quiet. They did provide the adjoining connecting room I’d asked for, but it was a smoking room, and we had to stay there for all three nights. Staff brought up an air purifier but didn’t move us, despite discussing it during the stay. I never met or spoke face to face with Carl, but I’m leaving this rating because of these issues. I was a Platinum member this year and Diamond for the previous two years. I wasn’t greeted by name, and there was no room upgrade, complimentary breakfast, bar drinks, fruit basket or greeting letter. I even had to refill the hand soap with water in room 3510. Calls from staff woke my infant despite the silent sign. We all came back with rashes on our legs, including the baby. I paid for an international chain, but the experience felt rooted in local hotel culture. This was disappointing for Crowne Plaza. Even Holiday Inn Express would’ve been better.

Good service 👍 The welcome feels warm, and breakfast includes some good Indian dishes, with vegetarian options too.

The staff are wonderful, especially Jessie at the front desk. There’s always an Indian chef and Indian dishes on the buffet. The rooms and facilities are dated, but they’re clean, and the location is good. This is my usual hotel when I visit the region. For this trip I’d been arranged another hotel closer to work, but I switched back here and don’t regret it.
