Foshan Marriott Hotel

We spent a week here and found the hotel very clean and the stay pleasant. The one thing that got repetitive was breakfast, which was the same every morning.

The front desk was impressive, and breakfast had lots of Asian and Western options. Our room was huge, with modern decor and a plush, standard American-style bed that made for a restful night. It's a new hotel in Foshan, China.

Getting to the right check-in desk was a hassle. The hotel shares its building and elevators with the Courtyard, but Courtyard check-in is on level 1 and Marriott's is on level 2, with no clear signs. Our taxi left us at the entrance, where we waited almost 30 minutes behind a large, rowdy group before being told we had no reservation. Once we showed ours, they sent us upstairs to Marriott, a delay that could easily have been avoided. The northern Foshan location is lovely for a walk, day or night. There's a mid-size mall, a lively night market, and a long canal bordered by manicured gardens and crossed by bridges. The area looks especially striking when lit at night. Our room was spacious and clean, and the staff were friendly.

The rooms were nice and the service was excellent. In Shunde, this is a great location, facing a very nice park.
