The room was okay, but what's the point of an executive lounge if it's open for such short hours? Breakfast was lousy, with very few hot choices. Smoking is allowed in the lobby, so it reeks, and people even light up in the lift.

The hotel itself is awesome, and it's one of the cheapest Kempinski hotels in the world. The metro is just a short walk away. My room was clean, the bed soft and super comfortable, and the strong water pressure made showering enjoyable.

The lounge staff are top notch, and Kempinski delivered its usual great service, especially compared with other Chinese hotels, including self-proclaimed five-star ones. The breakfast selection and housekeeping could be better. Tahoe's shopping districts are a five-minute walk away, with lots of restaurants behind them.

The 7:00 AM wake-up call went off every two minutes for 15 minutes, and only stopped after I phoned the front desk. The same thing happened in my cousin's room next door. I'd checked in late, at 11:00 PM, and around 1:30 AM, just as I was about to sleep, someone drunk banged on my door several times and tried to open it. I called the front office for security and was told he was a guest on a different floor. Aren't access cards usually restricted to designated floors? How secure is guest privacy here? This was my first experience like this at a five-star hotel. I had to get through the whole day tired and cranky, thanks a lot.
