Oakwood Premier Guangzhou

The room was nice, and the location is pretty good, with several snacks nearby and Grandview Mall less than 300 metres away. But the staff’s service ruined the rest of it. They were rude, gave mixed information, and seemed poorly coordinated. I saw staff ignore or brush off guests asking for help, while focusing on people extending their stay or making requests that would bring in more money.

Our room and the lobby were free of smoke smell, which was great for children and babies. The bed was big enough for two parents and our 11-year-old. Some staff and housekeepers spoke fluent English, too. They even held our Taobao order before check-in, which we really appreciated. Grand View Mall is about a five-minute walk away, with plenty of food stalls and convenience stores around. Good value for money, highly recommended.

The three cockroaches in my bedroom were the worst part of our stay at Oakwood Premier Guangzhou. I asked for the room to be cleaned, but when I returned they were still there, despite staff being sure they had cleaned and sprayed. I slept badly. The two-bedroom apartment was dated and had a dirty carpet as well. We stayed 22-25/2/2026 and paid 5860RMB for three nights, which didn’t feel worth it. After I complained and said I’d post a one-star review, they offered a 9% discount, so we still paid 5400. At checkout, the woman at reception, who I assumed was the manager, didn’t even say goodbye. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

The location is great for food and shopping, and I’m loyal to the ASR brand. The two-bedroom suite felt like a fancy apartment, with a kitchen, living room, and a bathroom for each bedroom. Aside from constant water-pipe noises and a slight toilet smell, everything was good. Neither issue was a deal breaker.
