The location is great, but the rooms and service don’t feel worthy of a 5 star hotel. Our rooms were clean, but that was about the only good thing: the beds were hard without much comfort, the blankets felt like thin sheets, and adjusting the temperature didn’t work well. Across from us, a neighbour smoked with his door wide open, filling the hallway with smoke. At check-in, one room wasn’t ready. The desk said they’d bring the keys to our other rooms once it was available. We waited two hours, heard nothing, and went downstairs, only to be told it was ready and handed the keys. The front desk came across as dismissive, like they didn’t want to be there. Nobody helped with our luggage when we got out of the cars, and we later learned the hotel had no bellhop service. For the minimal service and bare-bones rooms, I can’t see how this could be a 5 star hotel.

The staff were friendly and check-in and checkout went well. There are lots of restaurants to choose from. I especially liked the Thai western restaurant on the first floor for its great food and live singing band, and the seafood restaurant was amazing too. The location is great and the room was very decent. It can’t compare with ritz carlton or four seasons, but for the price it’s good value. I’d come back.

The restaurants are very good, though you can’t charge meals to your room. Rooms are very nice and big, and some allow smoking. It was really hard to find staff who could speak English.

Try the steamed rice noodles at breakfast, made from scratch. The hotel is comfortable and clean, right in the heart of the city, and many of the polite, helpful staff spoke understandable English.
