Ascott IFC Guangzhou

Grace, the sales manager, was so helpful with my questions before booking, and check-in went smoothly when we arrived. We stayed five nights in the three-bedroom Canton view family room, and the view was awesome. The rooms were super clean, with daily cleanup. Grace even arranged a birthday cake for my nephew, such a kind gesture. There are lots of malls and food options within walking distance. I’d highly recommend it for families travelling together.

We stayed March 1-7 in one-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments, and all of us liked the location, room comfort, and service. The staff were helpful and accommodating. The breakfast spread was good, and they even provide plastic containers if you want to take it back to your room. Our room had a nice view of Canton tower, and in good weather you can walk over the bridge behind the hotel to visit the tower and Pearl River. River cruises only start at 6pm. A subway station is a block away, with connections to many attractions and shopping areas. If you can read Chinese, Baidu map makes getting around easier. You can pay for the subway with Alipay’s tap transport feature. We found WeChat Pay useful for ordering food in restaurants, and Alipay convenient too, since both are used all over China, even at roadside stalls.

The room was spotless and had stunning views, plus a kitchenette with a washer and dryer. The hotel is linked to IFC Mall and has plenty of coffee shops and places to eat nearby. Its central location still felt tucked away from the hustle and bustle, so we avoided traffic jams. Staff at the front desk and the bellboys were friendly and very helpful, and I was pleasantly surprised to find an indoor pool. One hiccup on my last night: a drink I ordered through room service was meant to arrive by robot, but never did. I mentioned it at checkout and the refund was processed almost immediately. I was impressed by how quickly they responded, and would definitely stay again.

It was our first visit to China, and Lina, Grace, and the whole team at the Ascot hotel made us feel so welcome and cared for. We have no complaints. You’re lucky to have such a wonderful team.
