Ausotel Smart Baiyun Airport

There's a decent range of breakfast options. The airport shuttle runs at intervals, and you can check the times at their counter. Be there five minutes before it leaves. Staff weren't very friendly when we visited. There aren't any convenience stores or other facilities nearby, so it's really only suitable for an overnight stop before an early flight.

We were given this complimentary room by China Southern Airlines, and I expected an average stay because it was free. It turned out much better than I thought. The hotel is very close to the airport and offers free transfers both ways, which made getting there easy. Since there were three of us, I expected separate rooms, but the staff offered us a spacious room for three. They also checked our next flight time so the transfer would fit our schedule. The room was clean, cozy, and had what we needed. Wi-Fi was decent, though social media apps banned in China didn't work. Breakfast had plenty of choices, including bread and cereal as well as a DIY noodle station.

The rooms are good and the location is very nice, and breakfast was good too. But the reception staff were awful, so unfriendly and unhelpful. The older man and woman were especially bad, while the younger girls were friendlier. Teresa Hu was the only receptionist I liked. Never again.

The airport shuttle goes to and from the terminal, and breakfast was good. My room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. I couldn't have asked for more from a short stay.
