The area is quiet and the location is perfect, but the room service is zero. Cleaning seems to mean changing the towels and nothing more. Since the floor is carpeted and never gets cleaned, there's a bad smell when you enter the rooms.

The location is good, and the women at the front desk were polite, though the men weren't. The listing says Wi-Fi is free, but it was so slow we couldn't use it. Be careful booking around Chinese holidays: our reservation was cancelled without notice during the Canton Fair, apparently when they were overbooked.

Being right on Beijing Lu makes shopping easy, but the hotel feels old and is overdue for upgrades and replacements. Breakfast was average, and items kept running out.

There are lots of newer hotels nearby, so I'd avoid this dusty, old one. The service was awful, especially from the guard and manager, and they couldn't speak English. We also had trouble with the parking service.

Beijing Lu, Guangzhou's famous walking and shopping street, is close enough to reach on foot, and there's a metro station nearby too. The hotel was clean and in a good location. A taxi from the airport cost 125 RMB.
