Conrad Guangzhou

The Aroma restaurant was the best part, and the gym and pool were great too. I had a fabulous business stay in this awesome city, with a huge modern room, a great view of the tower, and a terrific location. The service was beyond fantastic. A great choice for a work trip.

The room layout takes some getting used to: you pass through the bathroom to reach the bedroom. The decor and furniture were comfortable, but the dual sliding bathroom doors were hard to keep shut, even though they seem meant to add local character. The location is right in the city centre, attached to the IGC mall. Staff at the front desk were prompt and professional at check-in and when I had trouble with my room key. Breakfast was among the better ones I’ve had, and the executive lounge exceeded expectations, with a range of cocktails. I’ve stayed at the Conrad in Tokyo and Osaka, which are said to set the brand benchmark, and the Guangzhou property ranks right up there. I was very happy with the stay. The indoor pool was a plus, and my kids spent an hour there each day. The gym was spacious enough and had all the equipment I needed for training.

Owen at reception deserves a special mention. He handled our luggage and several packages so helpfully, and took the initiative to share useful local information and recommendations. We could walk to the central park, which is well worth a visit, and the hotel is very close to the Haixinsha. Exploring the area on foot made our stay even more enjoyable. Thanks to the Guangzhou Conrad Hotel team for the excellent service. I’d happily stay here again and recommend it.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary here, and the staff went out of their way to make it special. They upgraded and decorated our room, then gave us gorgeous roses, cake, and fruit. They even made a special exception so we could use the business space to work. The hotel is convenient for the river area and nighttime activities. The facilities were cozy, the food delicious, and the views stunning. Staff were capable and well trained, and the little things stood out, like automatic coffee refills, clothes tidied in the room, and remembering our names and preferences. Thanks to all the staff and management, especially Molly and Ghislaine at Sense, Kenway and Cynthia at the front desk, and so many others. We’ll remember this amazing stay and come back.
