Yvonne made the stay especially memorable. She was so friendly and helpful, and assisted us with everything and more. The room was spotless, modern, roomy, and comfortable, with a walk-in closet too. The hotel is very central, close to the city center. I had a wonderful stay and would recommend it to anyone visiting Guangzhou. Thanks so much, I hope to come back soon! ❤️

The room was roomy and had a nice big bath, but the headboard had awful marks that I think might be mould. It would not take much to cover or replace it. The pool staying open until 22.30 was good. The showers and the surrounding area need updating, and they try to make you take a freezing cold shower at the entrance before going in. I’m an adult and can shower in the changing room at a decent temperature. There is another way around it. I couldn’t get black tea bags, which is unusual. They only had Earl Grey, green, or fruit tea. I called and they brought those, but they’re not for me. There was only one Western TV channel out of 50, HBO. CNN was listed, but it didn’t work, and there was no international news. Room service arrived faster than I’ve ever experienced, though sometimes some items weren’t available. There were no Western meals like steak or chicken, just burgers and sandwiches. Staff were nice, but their English was limited. I know I should translate, but I’d usually expect better at an international hotel brand. The cleaner begged to clean my room. I found out they’re only paid per room, which is awful of the hotel. I’m here for work, so I’m not sure about the location. It feels like I’m in the Middle East, with a hookah bar in the hotel and lots of ME restaurants nearby.

After arriving from the airport, I discovered the taxi driver had charged me 900 RMB instead of 100 RMB. I asked Kadri at reception whether that sounded right, and he immediately said I’d been overcharged and that they would help me get the money back. My only evidence was a very poor quality video of the taxi interior, but Ricky and Kadri still investigated and made several calls. Within 24 hours they got the full amount back. They even gave me a free coffee at reception while they followed up. Their professionalism, empathy, and effort really stood out when I was in distress. This was the best treatment I’ve had at a hotel, and I’ve stayed in hundreds across 17 countries. Crowne Plaza should be proud of them. Five stars, highly recommended!

Alan Cai, Lucy, and Will were the most memorable part of my stay. These concierge staff were very helpful and shared useful local knowledge. The hotel’s location is hard to fault, but the lobby could use more seating and the property needs renovation. During the Canton Trade Fair it gets extremely busy, and that crowding affected my guest experience. I’m willing to give the hotel another chance, though I’d avoid booking during the fair.
